eBay Shipping Calculator Malfunctions then Breaks Completely
Today, the eBay Shipping Calculator is not just malfunctionning like if often does, it is completely broken. We are receiving emails from potential customers who would like to purchase our items but cannot determine the shipping costs since the eBay shipping calculator is BROKEN. Buyers receive the message that shipping cannot be calculated to their area and that they are to contact the seller. I really love how eBay puts the burden on sellers when their system fails to work.
Too bad I am not allowed to file a SNAD (Significantly Not As Described) to obtain a refund on my insertion fees when eBay’s system fails to work. But, hey, I guess I shouldn’t complain since eBay is coming out with some really “cool” apps like the iPhone application to enable buyers to return more items to eBay sellers and the new “In Demand” project for Gold Powersellers and above who have 4.8+ DSRs (and since my seller account has only 4.7 in S&H with 4.9 on others with 100% feedback I am not “good enough” to participate in the In Demand project even if I wanted to).
Here is what potential eBay buyers are seeing today:
Here are some discussions on the eBay Boards about other sellers who are also reporting shipping calculation problems (must be logged in to eBay to view the discussions):

Speaking of malfunctions and iPhones, I am not able to do a search of Completed Items while on my iPhone because ebay will not recognize my correct password when ebay asks for it. I’ve reported this malfunction but have heard nothing from them yet.

It is totally confusing, and does not show the right amounts to the customer which is costing me money. I want some satisfaction.
fix it or get rid of it.
