eBay Bulk Editing Tools Now Available for eBay Sellers to Edit Return Policy

Posted on October 7, 2008. Filed under: eBay, Tips - for the eBay Seller | Tags: , , , , |

Back in July, I wrote about one eBay employee’s recommendation for sellers to Stop Revising listing descriptions for the new return policy compliance requirement because eBay was going to require sellers to also specify a return policy in the bottom portion of the listing and that sellers would need to specify in a drop-down box who is responsible for the return shipping cost and that box was not yet available.  In July, sellers were told that bulk editing tools would be in place before the new requirement went into effect.  Fast forward and, of course, bulk editing tools were not available when stated but…. better late than never.

eBay now has bulk editing tools for sellers to revise their Return Policy.  And, even more surprisingly, a workshop was held today to explain those bulk editing tools.  If you missed the workshop in real time, you can still obtain the information.

Just visit the eBay workshop (must be logged in to eBay to access) by clicking HERE

Of course, keep in mind that FP30 and store inventory items with multiple quantities where one or more items have already been sold cannot be revised.

I started using the bulk edit for adding a handling time and return policy to our 1300+ listings last week and for the most part it works smoothly. A side note, you mention that store inventory with multiple quantities where one or more items have already been sold cannot be revised, I have found that if you are adding a return policy where previously there was none it will let you edit the listing through the normal “Revise your item” procedure. Time consuming but still better paying the additional fees to relist those items. I don’t believe you can *change* the return policy but it will let you add one. I don’t have experience with the FP30 listings to know if they act the same.
