New eBay Survey Asks Sellers if they have a Bonanzle Booth

A little over a year ago I wrote a blog post titled “eBay Surveys Their Sellers of Clothing, Shoes, and Accessories” (click HERE to ready that article).

I showed a screenshot in that article where eBay asked if I sold on other venues such as Amazon, Yahoo Shopping, my own website, Craigslist, Overstock, or Etsy.

Several people recently emailed me to let me know of a new survey sent out to eBay sellers asking them if they sell on Bonanzle, a platform that is celebrating it’s first year.  Thanks to everyone who emailed me with a heads up about the new survey.

One seller who received the eBay survey is Pieces-Of-The-Past’s (Lynette).  This seller offers for sale items that are “New and Vintage Art Glass, pottery, retired dinnerware along with accessories for you and your home.”

Lynette provided a screenshot of one page of the current eBay survey and I am using her screenshot below with permission.

The current survey asks sellers if they sell on alternate venues such as Amazon, a personal website, Overstock, Craigslist, or Bonanzle.  Whereas the survey one year ago (see above) asked sellers if they sold on Yahoo shopping or Etsy, the difference is that today’s survey asks sellers if they have a Bonanzle booth instead.

In my opinion Bonanzle’s inclusion in eBay’s survey validates Bonanzle’s undeniable potential negative impact that Bonanzle threatens the eBay marketplace.

Don’t misunderstand, I am not suggesting that Bonanzle is an eBay competitor at this time. However, the rapid fire growth of Bonanzle indicates that Bonanzle isn’t just going away and people are not in great numbers walking away.

No other site to date has achieved the traction Bonanzle has at all and certainly not at breakneck speed. This is why Bonanzle is being acknowledged. Not because of its current size, but of the potential size it can achieve in another year.

I think your observation of the number of small sellers that have left eBay completely and moved to Bonanzle is dead on. eBay’s greatest neglect in their policies was ignoring the value the small seller has to offer the marketplace. eBay’s appalling exploitation of small sellers by charging them the highest relative fees to foot the bill for these generic outlets is going to cripple eBay in a way they never expected.

Bonanzle is an excellent opportunity for the small seller and the sellers of products that are not allowed on Amazon or are limited.

I love it!

Cool! Guess we have arrived. However I don’t believe I would answer that question truthfully.
First, what business is it of theirs?
Second, what are they going to do with that information?

Bonanzle should be pleased. This marks a milestone in their history: eBay has taken notice of them. Here comes the mega$$$ buyout offer!

Yes Bonanzle is climbing the Charts FAST!!!

We had received a similar survey earlier in the year. Perhaps not so coincidentally this survey arrived days after AuctionBytes published “eBay Alternatives Review, Part 3: Bonazle and WeBidz”.

Apparently someone in eBay middle management is awake, and paying more attention.

Remains to be seen what eBay will do to these “noise” venues.

The sooner ebay falls down, the better. I’m surprised ebay has lasted this long.
